The Royal Queen Grandmother Ashi Kesang Choeden Wangchuck of Bhutan pays her yearly visit to Kalimpong India. The region becomes an important standpoint for two countries of a significant history to meet and maintain their solidarity.  

Captivated by the classical booming trade centre of the frontiers of Sikkim, Tibet and Bhutan, Queen Grandmother sealed her relationship with Kalimpong by the Treaty of Friendship signed in Darjeeling in 1949. Kalimpong’s beauty is now nestled by glorious mountains, rich tropical nurseries, and perfectly clear lakes.

This Buddhist Monastery was built under the guidance of Dalai Lama in 1975, it holds importance for both its spiritual significance and as architectural marvelousFrom this point, a view of the Himalayas is also breath-taking.  

Kalimpong not only attracts visitors from its natural beauty, it also boasts a number of stunning architectures like the Zong Dog Palri Fo Brang Gompa built under the guidance of Dalai Lama, the St Teresa’s Church by Swiss Jesuits and the Bhutan houseenrich the place with spiritual air and marks itself with stunning architectural designs.

Paragliding in Kalimpong offers a spectacular view of the Mt. Kanchenjunga– one without any disturbance. On a clear sky, one can see the tiny houses, lush green valleys and clear rivers of the region. 

The attraction of Kalimpong is best seen from a large aerial view and this is now provided by taking off through the blue skies and slicing through the fresh cool air by paragliding.  Not only this, even camps have combined itself with river rafting and angling.
